Wanaka Lakehouse is a model of healthy & sustainable building and innovation.

Our indoor pool is a standout feature of the above as, being chemical free, it can be opened to the whole indoor environment so that all energy used to heat the pool actually heats the lodge. And it is heated for a good 50% of the year by a large array of solar panels. It is the most beautiful 28 tonne, 28 degree, year-round, ambient heat source that you will just love!! Thus through design power is conserved.

Only renewable plantation timbers were used in construction & only “eco” products are employed to maintain and service the house and all meals are made with organic produce where possible.
